Leadership. It’s a word thrown around often, but what does it truly mean? While leadership styles can vary greatly, there are fundamental principles that underpin all effective leaders. These principles are the building blocks upon which trust, influence, and success are built. This article dives into the core principles that will equip you to become a leader, not just by title, but by action.  

Identifying the Work to be Done

The first step in effective leadership is having a clear understanding of the task at hand. This involves:  

  • Vision: What is the desired outcome? A leader must articulate a clear vision that inspires and motivates the team.  
  • Challenges: What obstacles stand in the way? A leader must realistically assess the challenges and develop strategies to overcome them.
